Community Engagement

At Art Studio, we are passionate about using creativity to build connections beyond our club and across the community around us. As part of our community engagement efforts, our moderators lead our members to visit local nursing homes to lead hands-on arts and crafts workshops for elderly residents regularly. These sessions are designed not only to share the joy of creating something beautiful, but also to encourage social interaction, sharpen motor skills, and foster mental engagement among the seniors. Through these meaningful activities, we aim to brighten their days, build a sense of accomplishment, and strengthen the bonds between our club and the wider community.

On May 22, 2025, moderators and members from Art Studio visited Bali Nursing Home in New Taipei City to lead a special arts workshop for the elderly. We taught residents how to fold delicate origami flower petals, then assembled these petals into individual blossoms. Finally, we brought all the flowers together to create a vibrant bouquet and vase display which now adorns the walls of the nursing home as a lasting symbol of creativity and community.

On May 22, 2026, Art Studio organized a visit to the Taipei Medical University’s Daycare center. We held a DIY event of making sachets, as it is a Taiwanese convention for the upcoming Dragon Boat Festival. This event enhanced the dexterity and mental well-being of the elderly, and improved our empathy, communication skills, and compassion.
